National Relaxation Day

Relax, unwind, and rejuvenate on a getaway to Whidbey

August 15 is National Relaxation Day, and there is no better place than Whidbey Island to escape, indulge, reset, and relax. Step away from the hustle of everyday life and pursue what brings you joy. Whether it’s a spa day, a peaceful walk along the shoreline, hiking on a trail surrounded by the evergreens, sipping wine at a winery, enjoying a nice game of golf, or reading your favorite book on the deck of one of our vacation rentals, Whidbey Island offers an abundance of opportunities for you to slow down and unwind.

Yoga and a Spa Day

If you feel rejuvenated by a yoga class or spa day, then look no further! The spas on the island offer something for everyone—from facials and massages to manicures and pedicures. Start your day off with a yoga session at Island Athletic Club, then book a treatment at Island Aesthetics & Dermatology or The Seaside Spa & Salon, and spend some time pampering yourself to feel your best.

Peaceful Strolls

Whidbey’s scenery is breathtaking. If you are someone who feels revitalized by exploring the outdoors, there really is no better place than the island. Surrounded by wildlife and gorgeous foliage, Whidbey offers a variety of settings for your backdrop. Take a stroll along the shoreline, breathe in the ocean air, and unwind. If you prefer scenic trails instead, pack your hiking boots and binoculars, and take a walk under nature’s canopies. If you love the outdoors and art, then the Sculpture Forest is a must see. Full of century-old trees and hidden art amongst the greenery, you’ll find yourself immersed in the forest alongside local Whidbey artist’s creations.

Wineries

If you are a wine connoisseur, Whidbey is your spot. Spend a day of your getaway tasting handcrafted wines from a variety of locations. With covered gazebos throughout the vineyard and garden, Spoiled Dog Winery offers picturesque outdoor seating. Bring your dog along, they just ask you keep them on a leash. Whidbey Island Winery is another fantastic winery. Sip an award-winning wine, enjoy a picnic under the century-old apple orchard, and learn about grape growing and wine making. Additionally, Dancing Fish Vineyards and Comforts Of Whidbey are wonderful wineries to explore and add to your wine tasting list.
